Finally, Good Looking Bath Hardware

I have been looking a while for bath hardware that is simple, contemporary and reasonably priced for my bath. I love Dornbracht but to spend their prices and be insane. The Mem line robe hook is $60. and their wholesale prices to designers are not much better.

After searching for over a year now I recently found that West Elm has a line called Flatstock in polished chrome. It looks great, even better the towel ring for $29. is square rather than the typical round ring. They did a nice job on the tissue holder too at $24. and the robe hook is only $19. They have two towel bar sizes and a glass shelf. http://www.westelm.com/

I just placed my order for a few pieces and hope they live up to the photo. I'll post an update once I receive them.

San Francisco Finds

Last month on a business trip to San Francisco I had the opportunity to stay an extra day and check out a few things in the city. Here are a few of the fun finds. Excuse the photos for being a bit grainy as I took them with my camera phone.

Green suede handbag with brass jaguar at Eden and Eden in Jackson Square.

Pair of antique commodes with antique silver mirror finish and square tube bronze base in Jackson Square at Hedge. I wish I had gone back during the day to take another look at these. http://www.hedgegallery.com/

I squealed over this totally funky velour flame stitch luggage piece. It was immaculate with leather handles and brass clasps. Past Perfect on Union Street.

I picked up a pair of Dorothy Draper Espana nightstands/chests at Past Perfect on Lombard Street. In fair to good vintage condition they were a steal for under $600. I had them shipped back home to Los Angeles and they look great in my apartment.

Magical Jewelry

For years I have been fascinated by Ruth Tomlinson's work. She is an amazing metalsmith creating jewelry with an emphasis on nature and archaeological finds. Her application of porcelain, precious stones and metals is delicate, sculptural and intricate.

Collections include Flora, Encrustations and Hoard including emerald, garnet, aqua, druzy stones and pearls. My favorite is the Hoard band encrusted with diamonds or aqua marine and oxidised. http://www.ruthtomlinson.com

ABC Home in New York is listed as one of the stockists. I wish you could buy direct from their website. http://www.abchome.com

Oh no... here comes another blogger

I have been wanting to add to the world of design online for a while now. There are so many things that I see everyday that are amazing, beautiful and creative which I would love to share. It may be a piece of art, furniture, jewelry, or simply a vintage handbag.

Hopefully you enjoy exploring and find new creativity to inspire your own design style.
